Our BC Account Manager, Lewis Thaw, is more than just a Business Development Manager — he’s a passionate auto enthusiast with nearly 40 years of experience restoring and collecting classic cars and trucks. When we started exploring the SEM Gladiator XC Spray-In Bedliner (Part #SEM56650), Lewis rolled up his sleeves and did what he does best: tested it out in the real world.

The timing was perfect. Lewis was wrapping up a restoration of his 1980 Chevy C10 short box, and the truck bed was the ideal proving ground for the SEM Gladiator XC kit.

So, when I heard that we were considering taking on the SEM Gladiator XC line of spray-in-bed lines, I wanted to be part of the vetting process. I always have a project or two on the go and the timing of taking on this line was perfect. I was in the final stages of finishing my 1980 Chevy C10 short box project and the bed area was perfect to try out the new kit from SEM.
The Gladiator XC kit was a complete, ready-to-go kit that included the product, activator and application gun in one convenient box.
The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The prep work consisted of scuffing the painted surfaces down to an 80 grit level and cleaning the surface with a wax and grease remover. Then it was just a matter of masking off the rest of the truck and the defining borders of where the product was to be applied.
The whole process from scuffing to application to unmasking took just under 4 hours working alone. The results are amazing. The textured pebble finish is durable and smooth with enough traction to stop items from sliding around the bed.
It looks great and really added to the trucks over all appearance .
